The Hideaway – North Cornwall Holiday Cottages Dog Friendly

INTRODUCTION

The Hideaway is attached and tucked behind the main property of Trevale – a detached house situated in the heart of the sought after Cornish hamlet of Rezare, a rural location, which is approximately 4 miles from the main town of Launceston in Cornwall (please refer to our Contact Us page for more details). Situated near the Cornwall and Devon border, The Hideaway is the perfect location for guests to explore both counties.

We are on a level approach after a minor road from the village of Treburley, which is on the main A388 between Launceston and Callington. It is the perfect place to stay either for business or pleasure. Treburley, is 0.7 mile away and boasts a popular pub/restaurant, petrol filling station and repair garage. The village of Stoke Climsland is located only 2 miles away with a public house, Post Office/general store and the renowned Duchy College is close by, offering equine and rural pursuits. The supermarket of Tesco is located at the approach into Launceston, along with a petrol station and other services.

We offer 2-bedroom accommodation, comprising a king bed in the master and the second bedroom has a zip and link bed, so there is the option of having the bed as a king, or as twin-bed provision. The spacious bathroom offers a large walk-in shower, along with a separate bath.

The accommodation has been used by wheelchair users and those with mobility issues. Please ask for additional door opening sizes should you need to be reassured. However, there are 3 steps up to the main French door entrance.

We welcome small, well-trained dogs at the property. Food, water bowls and bedding are provided, if required.

For full details and maps of how to reach us, please see the Contact Us section of this website. Please be aware that our postcode PL15 9NX will direct you some distance from The Hideaway. The exact location of the property is accurately pinpointed on Google Maps.

The nearest railway station is Gunnislake (PL18 9ED), which is 5.9 miles away. Gunnislake station is the northern terminus of the Tamar Valley Line, which runs from Plymouth. The mainline station at Plymouth (PL4 6AB) is on the route from London Paddington to Penzance and in the summer, Newquay. Services are operated by Great Western Railway and CrossCountry trains run from Scotland and the North of England via Bristol.

CAR PARKING AND ARRIVAL

Car Parking and Arrival at The Hideaway Holiday Home

There are 2 allocated covered parking spaces under the carport at The Hideaway (additional parking is available on request) with sloping access down to the accommodation.

The carport has a flat concrete surface and there is a sloping, concrete path which leads down to the main entrance of the accommodation. The surfaces are uneven in places.

The carport is well lit in the evening by automatic sensor lights, as is the walkway down to the accommodation, with a further 4 separate lights that illuminate the area.

Across the road, opposite the carport area is the Fire Evacuation Point – full details displayed in the Welcome Pack.

Guests may be dropped off in the car pull-in bay area directly outside the carport.

There is a walk of approximately 3,506m / 115ft down the path to the main accommodation entrance.

There are three steps into the accommodation which are 200mms, 130mms and 140mms in height respectively. There are no handrails.

The main French doors into the accommodation are 158cms / 62ins wide at their furthest, 90° opening.

Assistance can be given with luggage.

Guests are welcomed within the carport area and escorted down to the accommodation, where they are asked to register.

The internal floor of the Kitchen/Diner/Lounge is vinyl.

This area is evenly and well lit with both spotlights and under unit lighting.

A magnifying glass, pen and pad of paper are provided.

Guests are advised about the area, places to visit and to eat if required/requested. A large selection of leaflets and brochures are on display for guests to take.

If required, guests’ ID is photocopied and kept in a secure, locked cabinet (ICO Ref: ZA339420).

Guests are advised on fire evacuation procedures.

ACCOMMODATION

Open-plan Kitchen/Dining/Lounge Area – Size 570m (18ft 8in) x 427m (14ft) at widest point.

The height of the corner sofa is 43cms / 17ins.

There is a foldaway dining table with stowed seating, able to accommodate up to 4 people.

The crockery in the main is white and red.

Bedrooms

Master Bedroom – Size 358m (11ft 9in) x 399m (13ft 1in) at widest point.

The doorway is 79cms / 31ins wide. The room has a king size bed and a tub chair.

The height of the king size bed from the top of the mattress to the floor is 51cms / 20ins.

The room is bright and evenly lit. There are also bedside touch-lamps and an additional lamp is provided.

This bedroom offers the following: lighting as above, short pile carpet, Dormeo pillows and all our bedding is non feather.

In addition, the spacious master bedroom offers the following:

  • Triple wardrobe, 2 chests of drawers and a dressing table with stool.
  • Samsung LED digital television with remote control, subtitles and audio facilities.*
  • Dressing gowns and slippers (available on request).
  • Hairdryer.
  • Luggage rack.

The room is fitted with a smoke alarm.

There is a good colour contrast between the walls and floors.

Bedroom 2 – Size 358m (11ft 9in) x 303m (9ft 11in) at widest point.

The doorway is 79cms / 31ins wide. The room has a zip and link bed (therefore either a twin or king bed option is available) and a chair.

The height of the bed(s) from the top of the mattress to the floor is 64cms / 25ins. The length of the bed is 188cms / 74ins.

Each single bed is 75cms/30ins wide.

The room is bright and evenly lit. There are also bedside touch-lamps.

This bedroom offers the following: lighting as above, short pile carpet, Dormeo pillows and all our bedding is non feather.

In addition, bedroom 2 offers the following:

There are gardens and an additional raised patio area for guests’ sole use. A Bistro style table and chairs are provided with seating up to 4 people in this area. Important Specification details for this in Welcome Pack. BBQ.

We have a set of evacuation procedures – someone will come to your accommodation and assist you with evacuation, should you require it.
